HD, FHD, 4K and selected 8K: what matters

Understand IPTV picture quality, source resolution, device decoding and the connection requirements behind a sharp, stable picture.

The source, player, hardware, screen and connection all contribute to picture quality. A label in a channel name is not an independent measurement, and a 4K television cannot add detail that is missing from an HD source.

01

Check the source first

IPTV Lux includes HD, FHD, UHD and 4K sources, with selected 8K content where available. Not every programme is provided at every resolution. Use the player’s technical information, when available, to compare the actual stream rather than judging only by the channel label.

02

Match the playback chain

Your device must decode the video format and your display must accept the output resolution. HDMI settings and receiver compatibility can affect the final picture. An older TV or streaming box may play the HD version well while struggling with a higher-resolution source.

03

Prefer stable viewing over a badge

There is no single speed number that guarantees every stream: bitrate and compression vary. Leave room for other household traffic and try your setup during the hours you normally watch. If motion stutters, compare another quality level and a wired connection before deciding that the highest number is the best option.

Before you finish

  • Source resolution checked
  • Compatible player and hardware
  • Display output reviewed
  • Peak-hour playback tested
Interfaces and app availability can vary by model, software version and region. Ask support for instructions that match your exact device.
